Offsite backups - Your hosting insurance policy

Many web hosting companies store backups of your website on the same server as the website itself. Should the server experience a catastrophic failure you could not only lose your website, you may also lose the only backup!

As always, we decided to go one better. Not only do we store daily backups on the same server for quick access and convenience, but we also store full copies of daily, weekly and monthly backups as well on a different server, in a different datacentre, still in New Zealand for easy access just in case something goes wrong.

Note: For your own safety and peace of mind we recommend all customers keep their own local copies of website files, databases, scripts and email. We're happy to show you how to take your own regular backups if you're unsure.

We take these backups, as in-secure scripts, kiddy hackers always try to reck havoc with web hosting companies servers, they see it as some kind of game to try to distory the data.

In the event that all data was lost from our main servers, we would restore the backups to another one within hours to get all sites up and running as fast as possible.
