What is phpMyAdmin?

phpMyAdmin is a free software tool written in PHP intended to handle the administration of MySQL over the World Wide Web. phpMyAdmin supports a wide range of operations with MySQL. The most frequently used operations are supported by the user interface (managing databases, tables, fields, relations, indexes, users, permissions, etc), while you still have the ability to directly execute any SQL statement.

This graphical interface allows you to add, edit, and create data in a database with ease. phpMyAdmin has been preconfigured for all MySQL databases hosted with FlexiHost.

What is it good for?
The phpMyAdmin program is handy for performing mantainance operations on tables, backing up information, and editing things directly in the event that your scripts are not working. Occasionally, in the Support Forums, someone will post a SQL query of some benefit or other that can be run using phpMyAdmin. Although many of the same tasks can be performed on the MySQL command line, doing so is not an option for many people.
